This cheeful lovely Moda quilt fabric print
is a dream to sew and I thought Daisy seemed
a perfect name for this awesome tote. Daisy
is so cheerful and happy and she just takes
care of everything!
The fabric is gorgeous, a peach tinted
pink sprinkled with red and white daisy-like
flowers and tiny pink and even tinier blue-berry
looking flowers and grass green leaves.
The reverse side is a Moda coordinate in
peach/pink with tiny red berries and vines
trailing all over.
I have lined this bag with a white quilted
cotton and added flirty red and white polka-dot
pockets. And BOY does this one have POCKETS!
Two full body size pockets that can easily
accomodate your books, magazines and quite
possibly you laptop! (And if you have a
small laptop, I'd be happy to make a coordinating
sleeve for it to match the bag!)
More about the pockets...
The big ones are edged with red bias trim
so it's easy to see them and they have velcro
closures. On the back side of the tote,
on the big inside pocket I have piggybacked
a slip pocket from the red/white polka dot
fabric and trimmed it with a row of white
eyelet
On the front inside pocket there is a long
piggyback pocket made into three slip pockets.
Perfect for your cellphone, papers/receipts,
and other small items.
I've given the bag a tab closure with
velcro and an antique carved red button.
I used velcro instead of magnets in case
you do want to carry your laptop.
The handle is padded and wide for security
and to distribute the weight because this
baby will tote it all for you! I've folded
and quilted the shoulder portion for added
comfort. Finished size; 16" Wide, 14" Tall,
3.5" Bottom width, with a 16" drop
shoulder strap, making it easyand comfortable
to carry.
