I am so excited about all the "Pink October"
projects I am involved with this year! First of
all there's my new bag designs. As many of you
know, last year I created a limited edition Pink
October Tote and it was very well received. In
fact, I got so many requests for it after the
edition had sold out, that I decided that this
year I would create two new designs and I will
offer them for one full year. Every year on October
1st I'll retire the previous year's designs and
reveal new designs!
I am honered and blessed to be able to do this
and this year I will donate 20% of the profits
from the sales of these bags to the Susan G. Koman
For the Cure Foundation on a quarterly basis.
I'm hard at work on the new designs, and they
will be fabulous. I'll offer a tote and a purse
this year and each will be made with a coordinated
set of three gorgeous Amy Butler fabrics. Of course
there'll be PINK in each purse, but these are
bags you can carry year round. This is my individual
project and effort to give back and to support
my beautiful friends and yours, who have fought
the couragous battle with breast cancer and for
those who will fight it in the future.
I have been priviledged to get to communicate
personally with Amy Butler throughout the planning
of my project and she has been very supportive
of my efforts. See my next NEWS entry regarding
my interview with Amy for Make Mine Pink's Women
Who Inspire column! Amy also gives back with her
Blue Sky Hat Pattern and has graciously donated
patterns for me to sell on my site, and to support
her efforts, 100% of the proceeds from the sales
of these patterns will also be donated to the
Susan G. Koman For The Cure foundation.
